Today we held the first 'Music @ Lunch' concert of the Summer Term, with musicians from LIV to LV performing a variety of pieces ranging from musical theatre to classical music in the Chapel to the school community.

Emilia C (UIV) started with a beautiful rendition of Beethoven's famous classic, Fur Elise,on the piano. Morolayo A (UIV) followed swiftly with the well-known, Louis Armstrong classic What a Wonderful World, written by Bob Thiele and George David Weiss.

Next, we returned to the piano with Katelyn C (MIV) performing the dramatic 2nd Movement of Sonata in F by Mozart. Myra Z (LV) followed by singing a beautifully soft and sweet rendition of Linden Lea by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Hannah M (UIV) commenced the second half of the concert with a thoughtful and sombre performance of At the Evening Window, by Jan Freidlin, on the piano. Joanne C (MIV) performed the beautiful and moving piece The Swan from Saint-Saens's Carnival of the Animals, on the cello. Our youngest performer Suri Z (LIV) followed on from her Open Mic Night success with a stunning performance of Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid, by Disney composers, Howard Ashman and Alan Menkin.  Closing the concert was Alice S (UIV) who sang the beautiful and soft Die Lotosblume by Schumann.

The performances were such a wonderful lunchtime treat - we are already looking forward to the next one!

Date for the Diary - The next 'Music @ Lunch' concert will be on Wednesday 26th June at 1.45pm in the Chapel.
