Library 'Topping Out' Ceremony at St Mary's

Library Topping OutOn 10th December, we marked the latest milestone in the development of the new library with a 'topping out' ceremony. Governors, staff, students and Lady Lansdowne (Patron of the Calne Foundation Trust) donned hi-vis jackets, gloves and hard hats before being given a guided tour of the site.

Raising Funds for Doorway

DoorwayOn Monday 2nd December, Jolie, who takes the lead for Charity-focused activities in the Head Girl's Team, had the privilege of meeting and interviewing the Director of the Doorway Project, Jo Kitching.  Doorway is a local charity drop-in centre for those who are homeless, or moving on from homelessness, along with those who may be unable to sustain a tenancy.

Fascinating Lecture on 'Lasers in the Jungle'

Prof Mat Disney Lecture On Tuesday 26th November, we were very lucky to have Mathias Disney at school to teach us about his work with lasers in the jungle. A Professor at UCL, he has spent many years looking at how important trees are to sustaining our planet and he explained that we need to work hard to fully understand them at a time when our planet is being threatened by climate change.

 

Troy Exhibition at The British Museum enthralls girls
