Isle of WightOn 11th June, 27 very excited Year 8 girls (wearing bright purple hoodies) left Calne to go to the Isle of Wight. The sun shone all week and the girls took part in lots of interesting activities.

Girls study rocky shore Ecology on Biology Fieldtrip

Biology Field tripOn Thursday 14th June, 22 Year 12 biologists, accompanied by Mrs McKernan and Mrs Firth, went to Helwell Bay, Watchet on the North Devon coast to use their field techniques in studying the ecology of a rocky shore.

Activity-packed week in the French Alps

As part of Enrichment Week, 32 UIV (Year 9) girls accompanied by Mr Cockett, Miss Sears, Mrs Wilkinson and Miss Cotsell spent five days in the stunning countryside outside Samoens in the French Alps.

Bristol UniversityOn Monday 11th June, the nine French A Level students went to Bristol University with Mrs Ross and Mrs Northcote-Green to find out a little more about studying Languages at university and what Bristol University had to offer. Recently Bristol has been a popular destination for Calne linguists, so we were excited to see why they had chosen it.

Girls get active in the Mendips

Mendips tripThe corridor of sunshine followed us throughout our trip to the Mendip Activity Centre, in Somerset (as part of the Enrichment Week activities). Half of the UIV (Year 9) joined forces with the LV (Year 10) and enjoyed our glamping in the new tented village.
