On the evening of 16th January, we were treated to a very special visit from renowned adventurer and speaker, Tori James, who recounted in awe-striking detail, her fascinating experience of ascending Mount Everest ten years ago.
Monday 15th January saw the Sixth Form Historians venturing out on a dark and cold evening to Dauntsey’s school. We were going to a lecture by Dr Matthew Rendle, a Historian from the University of Exeter, which was focused on the commemoration of the Russian Revolutions of 1917.
On Sunday 14th January, some of the LVI spent the day fine-tuning their mountain craft skills on their Micro-Navigation Day for Gold DofE.

On the final teaching day of the Autumn Term, a number of LV and UV students took part in the annual British Informatics Olympiad (BIO). This is a national competition where students are faced with three, fiendishly difficult problem-solving challenges which they need to complete in less than three hours.
