Gatsby Evening, English Society MeetingLast week, the Sixth Form English students and staff gathered in Florence Dyas' common room for an English Society Meeting; the English prefects had chosen a 'Gatsby' theme and everyone came suitably attired!

We all enjoyed a little soiree of jazz-age music, drinks, sushi and feather boas! We read extracts from a range of genres of the period including poetry from  Langston Hughes and Florine Stettheimer and prose from F Scott Fitzgerald.

We're already looking forward to the next meeting; the theme might be the Romantics, so we're dusting off our Shelley, Keats and frilly shirts!
