The LIV girls have begun their entries into the BLOODHOUND SSC (the supersonic car) 'Race for the Line' competition, the BLOODHOUND Project's national rocket car championships.  The main aim of the BLOODHOUND Project is to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.

The girls spent the morning of 18th October with Mr Henley, a Bloodhound SSC Ambassador, and were given a presentation about the land speed record attempt and the aspiration to build a car that will travel at 1,000mph.  The rest of the morning was spent designing their model rocket cars and trialling them with an air compressor. The cars are now ready to be raced using model rockets on the Race day, which will be in the Spring Term.
