On 8th February, as part of their Enrichment Week, all the UIV girls ventured to the Roman Baths in Bath for an authentic experience of Roman Leisure.  With the aid of an audio guide they engaged with the Bath complex, the temple to the goddess Sulis Minerva, the hot spring, the great Bath and the caldarium, tepidarium and frigidarium. It was also possible to see the hypocaust which heated the Bath house. The idea that this was a place of worship, leisure and healing was evident and we wondered at the coins and jewellery which were found during the excavation.

It was a most informative trip.
