On 1st February, St Mary's entered two teams for Youthspeak, The Rotary Club's Public Speaking Competition, held at The Horsham School, and competing against local state and independent schools.
Team A consisted of Isabella, Marguerite and Rosalie who delivered a fantastic speech asking, 'Is it right to test on animals?' which was very well received.
Team B was Lydia, Josephine and Sarah who spoke on the theme of 'Can you define a human being as normal?'. They came 2nd in the competition, with Lydia narrowly missing out on the special prize for 'most outstanding performance.'
I was delighted with the girls' hard work in the run up to the competition and their sterling performances in the face of experienced opponents.
