English Speaking Union DebateOn the evening of 2nd December, two UVI Form girls, Juliet and Eleanor, emerged the winners of round one of the English Speaking Union Mace Debating competition, a prestigious national competition.

Leweston RelayOn 26th November, we took an Inter Cross Country Team to the Leweston School Relays. Each leg was 2.41 km in length, with a particularly muddy middle section. The team all ran brilliantly finishing 3rd overall amongst the stiff competition, with Lucy receiving a bronze medal for the third fastest lap.

Ten Pieces BBC LiveOn 26th November, the MIV girls participated in the BBC's Ten Pieces Secondary Live Lesson in their English class with Mrs Lord. The aim of this live lesson was to inspire them to respond creatively to classical music.

St Mary's Calne Headmistress wins prestigious GSA Award

Dr KirkThe Girls’ Schools Association (GSA) this week awarded its annual ‘Sheila Cooper Award’ to Dr Felicia Kirk, Headmistress at St Mary’s Calne, Wiltshire.  The award, which is given in recognition of significant contribution to the GSA by a recently appointed Head, was presented to Dr Kirk at the GSA’s Annual Conference on Monday 23rd November.

Moberly Company SupperOn Wednesday 18th November, Moberly held their annual Company Supper. The theme was the 'Awkward Family Photo'. The LIV were Hippies, MIV were Skiers, UIV - Goths, LV - Double Denim , UV - Geeks, LVI - Christmas Jumpers, and the UVI Bad Hair. The costumes were inspired and very creative.

Superb Performances at the Area Cross Country Championships

Area Cross CountryAt The Area Cross Country last Wednesday (11th November) we continued to show our dominance in the North Wiltshire Area Cross Country Championships held at Grittleton House School. The girls put in excellent performances, with three Inter Girls finishing in the top eight, the Junior Girls' Team finishing 1st overall and the Minor Girls' Team 2nd overall!

Successful NSEA Championships at Addington Manor

NSEA ridingAfter a very successful time at Crofton Manor back in May, the team of Charka, Sylvia, Lizzie and Lila successfully managed to secure St Mary’s three team qualifications at the National Schools Equestrian Assocation (NSEA) Championships. Sylvia also qualified as an Individual in the 90/95cm Jws and Lila qualified as an Individual in the 90/95cm SJ; a fantastic achievement to qualify for all those classes, and all in one day.
