Pupils Clemency (LV Art Scholar), Khalilah (UIV) and Charlotte (LV) were very excited to attend the Royal Academy's Prize Giving Ceremony on Tuesday 24th April at the Royal College of Art.  The girls' artwork had been selected for display as part of the Royal Academy's Young Art ‘Feelings’ Competition.

The girls were able to see their work on display at this prestigious venue amongst all the other entries, observing the skill, idea development and resolutions in response to the brief. Clemency’s interview with Chris Orr was published in the Catalogue with her winning piece (a painting of a gourd), and received a prize for First place in the GCSE Painting category which included £150 of Cass Art Vouchers and Art Materials.

It was a wonderful opportunity for the girls to appreciate the gravitas of their achievement and see their work appreciated in this context. Congratulations to all those that contributed works to the school’s competition that resulted in such a showcase of talent. We look forward to launching next year’s whole school competition to build on the successes seen this year!
