Many congratulations to Khalilah (UIV), Charlotte (LV) and Clemency (LV Art Scholar), whose work has been selected for display as part of the Royal Academy's Young Art ‘Feelings’ Competition. From over 7000 works, their work has been chosen to be on display at the Royal College of Art from 24th-27th April, 2018.  The competition has three categories: painting, drawing and printmaking, and approximately 800 artworks are selected to be on display.

Special mention must go to Clemency, who has been awarded First Prize in the Year 10-11 painting category, judged by Professor Chris Orr RA.  Clemency will meet Professor Orr at the Prize Giving on the evening of Tuesday 24th April, when she will also have the opportunity to interview him.

Clemency's painting of a gourd was inspired by artist Yayoi Kusama's 'Gourd' and took her several hours to complete.  Khalilah's painting of trees and Charlotte's two prints of friends will also be on display at the exhibition.  Charlotte had created her prints specifically for the 'Feelings' competition, taking photos first of her friends, showing expressive faces, with the yellow depicting happiness and the oranges/reds/pinks denoting anger.

Well done to all three girls on this fantastic achievement!
