Virtual Sports Day 2020

Sports DayLast week, we enjoyed our first, and hopefully last, Virtual Sports Day. The girls were awarded a point for every entry, encouraging them to enter a daily event for six days, culminating in what was to be our first full Saturday Sports Day. From the Split Step and Cross-Fit Agility challenge to the plank, wall sit and standing long jump, girls submitted their results to compete in either the junior, intermediate or senior age group.

Quarantine Cup - Week 1 Results

IC Cup Week 1There has been much excitement and talk as the first week of the Inter-Company Quarantine Cup came to an end on Sunday. With over 100 pupils and staff signing up to the competition, there has been much fantastic physical endeavour as well as lots of fun family walks and healthy exercise in the beautiful weather.

Inter County NetballOn Saturday 29th February, all of the Fourth Form (Years 7-9) came together for Inter-company Netball. Unfortunately, due to the weather, this was held in the sports hall, however, this created an exciting and competitive atmosphere for the afternoon.

Top performances at the Schools' Equestrian Games

On Sunday 1st March, our Equestrian Team headed to a new venue for us, at Mendip Plains, to contest the 90cm Schools' Equestrian Games Arena Eventing qualifier.

Girls enjoy Ski Trip to Austria

During the February Half Term, 19 girls plus Mrs Baldwin, Mrs Hornby and Miss Turley, left a very gusty (Storm Dennis) Stansted, bound for a Ski Trip in Axamer Lizum, Austria.

Ski Race Championships, Flaine 2020

FlaineSeven of our best skiers attended the 61st British Schoolgirls' Ski Race Championships in Flaine. We arrived on the afternoon of Friday 24th January and were able to get all of our kit ready for training to start on Saturday at 9am with our coach, Vincent.

Equestrian Teams on Fine Form

Equestrian Jan 2020The Equestrian Team have been busy and on Sunday 19th January, the girls enjoyed a training session with Australian International Event Rider, Sam Griffiths. Sam is a two-time Olympian, as well as winning the prestigious five-star event at Badminton, so the girls were able to take lots away from the training session.

Excellent running at the Wiltshire County Cross Country Championships

Saturday, 18th January was a beautiful morning for the Wiltshire Schools' Athletic Association's (WSAA) Cross Country Championships, held at Sheldon School in Chippenham. A frosty, cold start but bright, sunny and little if any wind - perfect conditions for running.

U13 West Hockey Finals

U13 HockeyTuesday 3rd December saw the U13 West Hockey Finals held at Millfield School. Despite an early start to the day, the girls were on fine form and ready to play hockey.

England Lacrosse School Challenge Cup 2019

U18 Challenge CupAn invitation to enter the U18 School Challenge Cup for the top eight lacrosse teams in the country was too good an opportunity to turn down - and it was certainly worth it. The chance to play two top schools, who aren't on our circuit, provided the perfect test to check our progress this term. 

Equestrians in Superb Show Jumping form at West Wilts

Dauntseys Show JumpingThe annual Dauntsey's Show Jumping Competition took place at West Wilts Equestrian Centre on 17th November. First up were the 80cm team of Amelia, Daisy and Sophie. They all jumped fantastic rounds, just missing out on the team placings, however, Daisy finished in individual 6th in a very competitive class.
