On Sunday 24th March, selected members of our UIV (Year 9) took part in two thrilling performances of Flesh by Rob Drummond, and directed by our fantastic LAMDA teacher, Rebecca Cochran-Patrick. The play is our entry for the National Theatre Connections Festival, and our 7pm performance was visited by a director from the NT.

The NT Connections Festival has been running since 1995. The festival commissions 10 playwrights each year to write a brand new play to be performed all over the country, with the best pieces being selected to be performed at the National Theatre in London! Our girls have been rehearsing since January, and have been an absolute credit to the school. The rehearsal process has been very intense, but they have well and truly stepped up to the challenge. The play's challenging plot and incredibly dramatic ending have given the director and young actresses lots to get their teeth into, and have ended up with a performance to be proud of.

The in-house performances were a tremendous success, receiving brilliant feedback from not just family and friends, but also from staff and respected industry individuals. All staff involved were immensely proud of all the girls' efforts. We are all extremely excited about our next performance at The Egg Theatre in Bath on Friday 26th April, where we will spend the day attending workshops and preparing for our public performance.
