Ashley Henry is a complete star of his generation and I have been following his career for some time. Ashley was born and raised in South London, and having graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, he forged a stellar path. At the grand old age of 25, Ashley was commissioned as guest resident Musical Director for two major London venues, the Jazz Café and Ronnie Scott’s. I love his exuberance, pianistic flamboyance and I think his interest in contrasting art gives his work a unique depth. Ashley cites his influences with breadth: Margot Fonteyn, Digital Underground, Freddie Mercury and Dreezy.
