This week, we step into an empty Wigmore Hall, London for a recital by Iestyn Davies, Countertenor, and Elizabeth Kenny playing Lute. As the world’s leading Countertenor, Iestyn specialises in this stunning repertoire and this recital transports us to another age. He has also been a part of St Mary’s musical research, as a John Dowland recital inspired a former pupil, Lucia, to base her performance EPQ on the melancholia of Dowland. Iestyn was happy to be part of the research and a significant part of the process which was truly special. This gorgeous recital is tempting me to do an EPQ on the beauty of lute and voice!
