Remote learning is no barrier to Book Clubs and the Fourth Form Book Clubs got up and running this week with their new choices.
UIV – This Half Term, the UIV are reading On the Come-Up by Angie Thomas, who also wrote the brilliant The Hate U Give. On the Come-Up, a Carnegie Award finalist last year, tells the story of Bri, a 16-year-old girl who dreams of being a rapper like her father. The story is intense, heart-wrenching and often hilarious, as well as being full of twists and turns.MIV – The MIV are going to be reading Michael Morpurgo’s classic War Horse. This famous story tells the story of the horse, Joey who, in the deadly chaos of the First World War, witnesses the reality of battle from both sides of the trenches. Bombarded by artillery, with bullets knocking riders from his back, he tells a powerful story of the truest friendships surviving in terrible times.
