A week of oustanding performances

  • Post Category:Sport

There was considerable Welsh heart, Australian determination and New Zealand skill coming from our sports teams in the various tournaments, matches, galas and meets this week. Highlights included both the U14A and B Netball teams becoming Area Champions. The U13B hockey team beat Stonar A team, while the U12s scored another eight goals to beat Prior Park. At the U19 South West Schools Lacrosse Tournament, both the 1st and 3rds won the 1st Division, with the 2nds taking St Swithun’s to a golden goal in the Championship final, in what Mrs Thompson describes as the best lacrosse match she’s seen in 27 years of teaching! At the joker draw tournament at Heathfield yesterday, both the U13 and U12 narrowly missed a place in the semi-final on goal average, despite the U12s remaining unbeaten in their five matches. At the County Trials a total of 25 girls were selected to represent Dorset and Wiltshire U19 and U15 Lacrosse teams and the U13 Swimming Team beat Dauntsey’s. Congratulations to all of you who represented the school.
