U13 West Schools Champions

Last Saturday St Mary’s Junior Lacrosse teams had a fantastic end to their season. The U14, U13 and U12 teams travelled toWinchesterfor a full day’s play at the Annual West Schools Tournament. After an intense and hard fought morning’s play, all three St Mary’s teams qualified for the Premiership Division play-offs in the afternoon to compete against the other top schools in the other sectons.

Having lost to St Swithun’s in the morning, the girls turned this around to win 2-1 in a fast, fluent and nail-biting match in the afternoon. They then proceeded to go on and hold Downe House and Queen Anne’s Caversham to a draw, finishing with a mighty and impressive victory over Cheltenham Ladies College 4-3, having been behind at half time. With two wins and two draw we amassed enough points to become West Schools Champions.
