Over the past two weekends, the LV Form DofE Teams have successfully completed their Bronze Practice Expeditions. Their team work was excellent as they rose to a variety of challenges: navigating tricky paths, carrying full rucksacks, cooking and eating epic quantities of pasta, waking up to a deep-frozen campsite (week 1) or to the Calne monsoon (Week 2), discovering the ‘Indian Ocean’ in their tent porch, and finding themselves to be en route for Compton Bassett rather than Yatesbury. Whilst the Week 1 teams enjoyed two days of beautiful spring sunshine, the Week 2 teams endured wind, rain and finally snow, and it is greatly to their credit that, having arrived at Yatesbury in a blizzard, they opted to complete the final section to Avebury. All the girls should be proud of their achievements and we are looking forward to taking them on their Final Expeditions on the first two weekends of next term.
