On Saturday 7th January, the Leavers of 2010 were reunited in the ‘cool’ nightclub space ‘Ju Ju’ on the King’s Road. Many of the year group gathered together, some meeting up for the first time since their Gap Years around the globe and their first terms at university.
As you can imagine, the loud music played in ‘Ju Ju’ was no competition for the animated Calne discussions and the whoops of delight as one friend after another rushed to kiss, hug and laugh together. Dr Wright, Miss Leadbetter and Mrs Rothwell also joined this happy throng, as well as Cate Bell from the Calne Girls’ Association (who snapped photos for the next CGA magazine). Drinks and canapés were served from 5pm to 8pm and, after staff went home (‘retiring gracefully’), lively groups of Calne’s ‘bright young things’ went on to celebrate their reunion in style in other venues on London’s great King’s Road.
As Ellen Fitton, superb year group organiser of this fun event said, ‘I think it was a great success and so nice to be able to get the whole year together! The venue was fantastic and the drinks and canapés were much appreciated - so thank you… (to St Mary’s)!’
