All A* for top linguists entering early IGCSE

The Modern Foreign Languages Department celebrated further IGCSE success today on the announcement of the results from the Autumn Term Spanish IGCSE examinations. All seven girls in the top set for Spanish achieved an A* grade in their second Modern Foreign Language.

The first cohort of St Mary’s Fifth Form linguists sat the challenging IGCSE French and German examination papers in June 2011, with the Hispanists sitting their papers in the Autumn. We have been delighted by the results that the girls have achieved and would like to congratulate all the girls who have sat language IGCSE papers early, as they have all achieved A* grades.

We are particularly pleased that seven girls have now secured the top grade in two Modern Foreign Languages.

Celebrating today, some of the Hispanists enjoyed an indulgent chocolate cake and sparkling elderflower provided by Mrs Thomas, Catering Manager. Thank you!

Those who could not be present, as they were carrying out voluntary work in the community, will find cake awaiting them when they return to Mews House.

Well done girls!
