On Wednesday 9th November, St Mary’s girls competed at the Area Cross Country Championships, held at Grittleton School.  As a school team, the Minor Girls came in 2nd place with some fantastic individual results: Georgia came in 2nd place, Amelia – 6th and Octavia – 18th.

As a school our Junior Girls’ Team came in 1st place with all of our girls finishing in the top 19 runners. There were some outstanding individual results from Yasmin coming in 3rd place,  Jemima – 8th, Hebe – 9th and Amelia – 14th.

With the Intermediate and Senior Girls running together, our girls again came in 2nd place.  Another set of great individual performances saw Iona finish 6th, Annabel – 7th , Eleanor – 8th , Amelia – 14th and Isabella finished 8th for the Senior Girls.

The top ten runners from each category at the Area Championships will go on to compete at the County Championships held again at Grittleton in January 2012.
