The Minister of State for Schools, Nick Gibb MP, visited the school on Thursday 3rd November. Mr Gibb met Dr Wright and a number of pupils to discuss current educational issues and to discuss their plans for the future and their career aspirations. He was then taken on a tour of the school and left after talking about his admiration for the school and how impressed he was with the lessons he had witnessed and the girls he had spoken to.
Mr Gibb was visiting a number of schools and organisations in the constituency of James Gray MP, who accompanied him on his visit.
He is due to give a keynote speech at the annual conference of the Girls’ Schools Association in Bristol on 22nd November, which will be presided over by Dr Wright as she comes to the end of her year as GSA President.
