On Saturday 26th November, a group of musicians travelled to Devizes to take part in the 65th Junior Eisteddfod. Eisteddfod is a festival to celebrate Music, Speech, Art and Literature. (1.12.11)

On Sunday evening, the Fifth and Sixth Form music students, along with the UIV Form Choir and other selected singers, headed to the Royal Albert Hall in London to take part in ‘Messiah from Scratch.’ (29.11.11)

It has been a busy week for Heads from the Girls’ Schools Association (GSA), as St Mary’s Calne joined forces with the GSA to host their annual conference in Bristol.
On Friday 18th November, Top Hall was transformed into a Jazz Café. Parents and guests were treated to a varied and extensive collection of jazz standards and mellow favourite tunes.
The Armed Forces Fund Silver Ball was held last Friday on London’s Embankment. Over £250,000 was raised to fund the education of sons and daughters of Forces’ personnel killed or maimed while serving their country.

Congratulations to Franziska, who has been invited to be a member of the British Pony Eventing A Squad for 2012. The Squad is comprised of the top eight riders in GB and inclusion in it usually bodes well for selection for the Europeans. (1.11.11)

On Tuesday 18th October, St Mary’s Sixth Form girls were able to gain an insight into an elite athlete’s training from Bath and Scotland Rugby player, Mark McMillan.
