Carmen in a Day

On Sunday 1st May, singers from the Royal Opera House came to work with the girls to present an exciting performance of Bizet’s dramatic tragic opera, Carmen.  The PGSM suggested and funded the event and were instrumental in the success of the day.

After a session of vocal and physical warm up sessions, the girls were divided into character groups and went to different venues to learn and rehearse their roles.  All groups then came together in the afternoon to rehearse before performing to a packed Theatre of parents and staff.  Girls were also involved in making props, producing programmes and front of House.

Aspiring operatic parents also joined the passion and the glamour by joining in the Toreador Chorus.

Following the performance, girls and parents enjoyed picnics in the Dining Room and Top Hall.

Thank you to the PGSM for funding this wonderful opportunity.
