Trip to Yatesbury
On Friday 7th May, the 13 UVI members of the Chamber Choir travelled the short distance along the A4 to the picturesque village of Yatesbury to lead a ‘Songs of Praise’ evening. A packed church sang alongside the girls in some well-known hymns which were interspersed with anthems form the Chamber Choir’s repertoire, from Rutter to Vaughan Williams, Purcell to Bednall.
The performance was hugely appreciated by the audience and enjoyed by the girls, especially as this was something of a swansong for a group of very talented singers who have given an immense amount of commitment and effort to school music.
The evening concluded with a delicious banquet of cheese, chutneys, salads and wine.
