Chamber Choir Recital at Keble College, Oxford

The Chamber Choir gave a wonderful recital in Keble College, Oxford on Saturday which was greatly enjoyed by a very large audience. In the beautiful chapel, David Bednall’s Requiem and Philip Moore’s Ave Maris stella were heard at their very best. The ethereal architecture, generous acoustic, and the new and powerful organ served to create a setting for a truly memorable recital which earned a standing ovation.

It was a great pleasure to welcome back twenty former members of the choir to complement the current singers, and Philip Dukes’ viola playing was as captivating as ever. After performances in London, Wiltshire, Tuscany, New York and Florida, to name but a few, this was a very poignant occasion with regular followers of the Requiem commenting that this was the finest rendition to date.
