Weekends at St Mary's
Weekends are an essential part of the boarding experience, and all day pupils are encouraged to take part in what is going on. After lessons on Saturday mornings, girls have the choice of an impressive range of activities. As well as Fourth Form Games Afternoon, matches and rehearsals, they go on House outings – theatre trips or visits to local areas of interest for example – and enjoy the school facilities, which are all open at the weekend.
At weekends, activities include matches, theatre and cinema trips, DofE expeditions, field trips, socials, Company Events, charity initiatives, Music and Drama. In addition to the trips and activities run for all year groups, girls can relax with their friends e.g. in House, in the Art School, on the Tennis Courts and in our indoor swimming pool.
Weekend outings include ice skating, go karting, bowling and exploring the local area, with cultural visits organised to Marlborough, Bath, Oxford and other nearby towns. The girls' suggestions for activities are welcomed.
