'Jvan made me laugh when he said, "If you don't make a mistake in the dress rehearsal then you know something is going to go wrong on your first performance, so I always make sure that I purposely make a mistake just to frighten the director!" I don’t think our Drama Department would be too pleased if I did this!
The variation in his inspiration was incredible and it made me realise the diversity that lighting involves. I learnt that a couple of well lit pictures can give you the inspiration needed for the lighting of a whole show.'

'Jvan Morandi uses his lighting skills and knowledge in two very contrasting aspects of show business. On one side he delves into the world of theatre and opera, where he tries to recreate paintings, from the likes of Caravaggio, to show the beauty of light that was captured by such artists during the Renaissance period. On the other side, when he works with touring bands such as Faithless and Paul McCartney, Morandi is inspired by modern day artists and uses bright, dazzling neon lights and dozens of televisions to capture the crowds attention right at the very back of the stadium.'
