This week was a very exciting and busy week for our athletes. Following Sports day, the U14 and U13 athletes competed in Dauntsey’s June Jamboree along with Godolphin and Lavington. Following some solid performances in the U14, we finished joint 1st with Dauntseys’ with many 2nd and 3rd place finishes. The U13s had a few great wins with Susie (MIV) winning the 200m, 800m and Long Jump and Emma (MIV) winning the 100m. Despite the relay team also winning we finished 2nd behind Dauntsey’s. Meanwhile a determined group of U13 and U12s competed in our own Aquathon with Pinewood and St Francis, each swimming 10 lengths followed straight away by a 2km run. The U12s failed to beat a very quick athlete from Pinewood but Lizzie and Belinda (MIV) came 1st and 3rd respectively in the U13s. On Saturday Georgia (LVI) competed in the Heptathlon at the South West Combined Events at Exeter, finishing 10th after the two days of competition. In our tennis matches against Cheltenham Ladies our remaining U15 non-Geographers put up a brave fight against their strongest age group, losing 4-5 and 2-7 but two of our four U14 teams as well as U13ABC and U12AB were all gloriously victorious.
