Successful week of sport on the run up to Half term

Last week got off to a very positive start with a win for each age group in our Swimming Gala with Dauntsey’s. Notable, impressive performances included India, Sophie and Dawn  in the U15s and Mimi  and Harriet in the U13s. Meanwhile, our 1st Hockey Team secured a 1-1 against a predominately male team from Royal Wootton Bassett. Having conceded an early goal against the run of play, our  relentless pressure and superior skills finally earned us the well-deserved equaliser.

In netball, our 1st VII beat Calne Ladies’ Team and our 2nds beat Hardenhuish.  Our U16s finally had a match to get their season underway, coming back from Marlborough with two wins out of the three. Matches against South Wilts Grammar and KES are always tough and last week was no exception, and we will learn much from our defeats, although the U15B were in winning ways.  The U14s played Queen Anne’s on Saturday, securing three comfortable wins from four.

In lacrosse we dominated the senior matches against Queen Anne’s, enjoying three solid performances, scoring 34 goals between the three teams. The U15 and U12As both battled hard for their wins and the U14s showed their promising progress, narrowly losing to a very strong side.

This impressive effort, teamwork and resilience will take us safely through to Half Term.
