Sports Round-Up

Last week got off to a great start with both the Inters and Juniors qualifying for the next round of the ESSA Cross Country Schools Cup. The Senior Netball teams beat Sheldon on Tuesday and on Wednesday both the U16 and U14 teams competed in the Area Tournament. The U16s put together some fine performances but struggled to maintain their consistency whilst the U14A and B finished runners up in the North Wilts Area with the A team qualifying for the County Tournament next month.

Thursday saw our U15 tennis team make it through yet another round in the Aegon, beating Clifton College to become one of the four semi-finalists qualifying for the Regional playoffs at Bath University next month.

In Lacrosse matches with Godolphin have begun to swing in our favour and four of the six away teams beat our local rivals with the U12s winning their first ever lacrosse match. Whilst at St Swithun’s at the South West Schools Tournament the 2nds had another frustratingly narrow defeat by Godolphin to prevent us getting our hands on another trophy whilst the 1sts had a good mornings play, qualifyied as one of the top five schools in the Premiership Division, beating Downe House and Cheltenham Ladies after lunch but lost by one goal to Godolphin who were the eventual winners. The 1sts finished 3rd in the South West which is not a bad achievement.
