Outstanding Week of Sport

This week saw some particularly impressive sporting performances throughout the school. In athletics, the Inters won the 1st round of the Track and Field Schools Cup scoring a huge 356 points. The Juniors are also hopeful of a regional qualification having come second overall. The tennis teams enjoyed some tough matches this week and although the results were mixed, there were some impressive wins for the 1sts against both Dauntsey’s and Downe House. The U16A and Bs beat St Mary’s Shaftesbury’s 1st and 2nds and the U15B, U14C, U14D, U13A and U12A Teams beat Downe House. Yesterday, Caroline competed at the Wiltshire Track and Field Club Championships, winning the U17 800m and coming second in the 1500m. At the Independent Schools One Day Event (ISODE) at Stonar, our team of Sadie, Alice, Maddie and Natalia came 3rd in the 70cm with Alice finishing 3rd individually and Natalia 8th. At the Aston le Walls Horse Trials Pandora won the Pony Trial. As one of the development squad training for the GB Pony Event Team, this sets her up nicely ahead of Brand Hall at Half Term. In the Ed Rich Family Tennis Tournament, the runners-Up were Abby and her father with Emily and her father winning the Fifth Form Tournament. The MIV and LIV section was won by Talitha and her mother with Octavia and her father the runners-up.
