From Tennis to Show-jumping, Hockey to Area and County Netball, as well as Area Cross Country and a fair bit of Lacrosse on Saturday afternoon, last week’s results were excellent on many accounts. I urge you to read all the reports on the sports website but there were some performances which need highlighting. Abbie Cowley, Amber Dunne, Rosie O Donnell and Jemima Madden finished 2nd at the Dauntsey’s NSEA show-jumping in the 80cm class. Susie Hirst won the Area Minor Girls Cross Country and Yasmin Watling and Lucy Fitzpatrick came 2nd in the Area in their respective age groups. The U13B won their Area Netball Tournament and the A team, although unbeaten came second on goal average in the A team tournament. The 1st lacrosse team finally beat Monmouth whilst the 3rds beat Monmouth 2nds 18-0. The U15 hockey team beat Devizes 11-0, whilst the 1st XI produced one of their best performances of the term, drawing 1-1 with Godolphin. Yesterday was the County Netball Championships. Both the 1sts and U14s played some superb netball to finish 6th and 4th but the U16s, holding Marlborough College to a 6-6 draw, were unbeaten in the County and qualify for the SW regionals in January. A fantastic week for St Mary’s Sport.
