Saturday lunch time 34 girls and four teachers left St. Mary’s for an exciting French trip to Saint Malo in Brittany. We arrived in Portsmouth in good time for our ferry to Cherbourgh and had some time to enjoy the sunny weather. It was quite windy and the stewards predicted that the journey by boat might get a bit bumpy, but all went well and nobody was seasick at all. The girls passed the time watching the view from the back of the boat, taking lots of pictures and having dinner on board before we arrived inFranceat 8 o’clock. We then got on the bus again to go to Saint Malo and finally arrived just after 11 o’clock in the evening. The host parents were already waiting and warmly welcomed us to Saint Malo. Today the girls are enjoying some quality time with their host families, who are taking them out on little day trips in pairs, before beginning their French tuition tomorrow morning.
We are looking forward to a great week with lots of interesting trips, insights into the culture here in Brittany and a lot of French conversation!
